Frak! Final Episdoes of BSG Start TONIGHT

It’s been a long time coming, but the beginning of the end starts tonight; the final episodes of the best show on television ever, Battlestar Galactica.

I started watching the show way back in 2003 without any real knowledge of what is was about.  I think a baby and young child were killed within the first two episodes (not to mention 12 billion other people) so I knew the show was not only dark, but something different, a show not afraid to show real harsh realities.  I enjoyed the miniseries a lot and bought the DVD, but I didn’t really think much of it until I heard a full season of the show was coming out about a year later.  From the first episode, I knew I was hooked.  None of my friends were really into it (or heard of it for that matter), so it was kind of my own thing.  I had never followed a show so closely before, and since the show was built around so many long reaching plot arcs, it was really a treat in a dearth of low quality Sci Fi and television.

The worst thing that could have happened to the show was for it to be stretched out longer than it needed to be, like Lost or The X-Files.  It saddens me that the show is coming to an end, but I know that this show needed to end strong, not piddle out or meander around with worthless story lines.  With so many long term questions from the show already answered and so many, many more to come, I can’t wait for this final season.  It’s been a long road to travel, but one hell of a ride.

So say we all.
