Miller’s Brilliant 1 Second Ad


Okay, maybe the ad isn’t exactly ingenious, but the marketing idea behind it is.  By now you’ve probably seen the Miller High Life ads for their… ad that’s running during the Super Bowl.  The special thing about this Super Bowl ad is that it’s going to last only 1 second.  That’s it.  The sneeze and miss it, grab another buffalo wing and miss it, the shorter than the transition between game and commercials sort of one second.  Whats brilliant about it is that it really is going to cost them a heck of a lot less than any of the other ads airing, but it will have (and already has) a lot more word of mouth, simply because it is so short (and cheap!).  1 Second ads aren’t ever going to become a strong component of cable advertising, but the novelty here is being used incredibly well by Miller.  And honestly, some of the example ads over at are half bad.
