The Horror: Songsmith + Real Vocals = Musical Abominations

Microsoft’s Songsmith was harmless enough as a jingle maker, and its developer made ads were hilarious in a way that made you feel bad for all involved.  But then Youtube user azz100c stripped out the original musical backing for a variety of classics and let Songsmith do its thing.  And that “thing” is musical rape, a demented, twisted abomination that the world would be better without.  But have a listen anyway, for shits and giggles.

First, a latin/Roxanne terror remix.

Here’s a version of The Cars “Just What I Needed” made into a tacky ballad.  But can you really make this song any worse?  The answer’s yes, but then why is this one the only one that’s close to listenable?

If Radiohead were made for elevator rides.

Rush fans might just want to avoid this musical crime.

Polka and Ozzy Osbourne, not like peanut butter and chocolate.

And finally, the Eye of The Tiger sloooow jams!

Thanks for linking to my videos — if you think it was hard listening to them once, consider how many times I had to do it in fixing tempos, applying instruments, and syncing the video.
