These Art Crimes Brought To You By Gateway


This horrific image is one among many visual terrors that Gateway was kind enough to include with computers back in 1994.  I never really thought Gateway used the cow branding beyond the iconic cow spots on their computer boxes.  What exactly was the reason to use cows as a brand?  It’s not like Maggie Moo’s cow branding since it’s associated with a Dairy product.  Did Gateway get it’s start in Wisconsin?  And for that matter, what did Gateway do in India, where cow branding might have been a just a tad bit offensive.  Can you imagine Dell plastering their computer boxes with Imagery of John the Baptist for no reason?
